| Yeah didn't even know this existed till I browsed other people's profiles. Forgive me for typos and grammatical mistakes, because I am too lazy to do anything about them Anyways... A little bit about myself. I am currently an architecture student in University of California, Berkeley. I have been doing some FORM of art since elementary school (performance art [violin]). So I am pretty experienced in the field of art, such as how to critically look, or enjoy art. I also have traveled a lot ever since I can walk pretty much. My family move from places to places almost every 4 to 5 years. What I saw and experienced in these environments contribute a lot to the art work I do. I also do a lot of community service, that also contributes to the art I do, hence the Chinese homeless photos (yes I know there is only one uploaded, but I took a series of them for my actual art exhibition). My art evolves through my art maturity. I started out doing comical sketches, which really weren't that great at all as an artwork (The devil and the angel picture). I did paintings for a while, hated that, because my sense of coloring is just completely horrible. Because something might look great as a sketch it ends up looking horrible after I colored it. Then finally I started doing installation art. Installation art had a strong impact in me. I personally went and saw Dan Flavin, Andy Goldsworthy, Anish Kapoor and many more of which I suddenly forgot the name of. The ability of an installation art to take control of the environment is what awestruck me to choose to do this type of art. Also I am a very lazy individual, so I don't really properly document most of my work, as a result, a lot of them you don't really see. |
